Taipei Drift, International Workshop for Art Academies, Taipei, Taiwan, 2008

Individually selected to represent the University of Michigan School of Art & Design.  Workshop focused on art as community intervention in the city of Taipei. Worked collaboratively with students from Australia, Finland, Israel, and Czech Republic.

 

Bio-Regions Expedition, Darhad Valley, Mongolia, May – June, 2008

Joined Professor Cliff Montagne and BioRegions NGO, Montana State University, Bozeman, MT. NGO conducted projects to build ecological profile of Bagh One, Darhad Valley, and sponsored annual Blue Valley artist awards program to promote and encourage traditional arts.  Undertook additional individual travel for thesis research to Menengiyn Tal (flat steppe), Eastern Mongolia.

International Experience – University of Michigan School of Art & Design, May – June, 2007

Based in Hikone, Japan, with extensive travel to Tokyo, Kyoto, Naoshima, Kanazawa, and small villages. Worked with Japanese artists, interacted with residents of senior citizen’s homes, university faculty, shop owners, and rice farmers.
